Makerspace Movement

Bairdmore was very fortunate to receive a $3000.00 Grant to help us start the development of a Makerspace in our Learning Commons (Library).

We were able to purchase both high tech and low tech kits for our school Makerspace. These items are housed in our new Makespace shelving located in our library.  The attacment below is a PowerPoint presentation listing of all the kits that were purchased for our school with our grant money.

What is STEM Education?

This definition comes from:

"STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications."
